Overview
Seri Kembangan is a township formerly known as Serdang New Village. Located within the borders of Selangor, it is fairly located at only approximately 20 minutes away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. A township with an ethnic majority of Chinese and Malay, this area was in the past only a bunch of 50 houses tenanted mostly by rubber tappers and tin mining workers in the middle of a jungle. The original structures have by far large been mostly demolished, and in its place are big and beautiful landed properties. Due to the increasing density of residents in Seri Kembangan, the traffic flow to and fro the city has increased over the years, causing much traffic congestion. However, homes in Seri Kembangan are slightly on the more affordable side due to its somewhat out of the way location, making it a target of first time home buyers. Targeted towards the middle income, upper middle income and upper income group, property investors also see this area as a fair piece of investment as the property boom in the city pushes the development circle further out from the city proper.
